Sevenoaks Triathlon Club

Welcome to Sevenoaks Tri Club

We are a friendly club based in Sevenoaks and the surrounding areas affiliated to the British Triathlon Federation and Triathlon England. New members are always welcome - from beginners to more seasoned triathletes.

The best way to get started is to come along to one of the organised swim sessions - see Training Times for details. We organise two triathlon events a year, traditionally in April and September - (see the Races tab above) which are always well over subscribed. Club members regularly take part in local, regional and national swimming, cycling and running events and to cap it all we have an active social section too.

Swimming

We run 4 pool based sessions per week and 1 open water (summer only). 3 out of 4 pool sessions are coached by resident swim coach Mike Wake who has worked hard to create good technique as well as strong swimmers.

We have sets to cater for all levels, with the pool divided up by ability. Please click on the Training tab above for more details.

Cycling & Running

Organised Cycling takes place mainly at weekends. There are regularly two groups that go out on Sunday mornings and one on a Saturday. A regular run group meets at 6:30pm on a Tuesday at the Leisure Centre with a track session on a Thursday evening.

Club Races

The Club runs two sprint distance triathlons every year, usually in April and September. All Club members help out either by marshalling on the day or by assisting with pre-race organisation. These events are extremely popular, it is therefore advised to enter early if you wish to secure a place and avoid disappointment!

April Race Success - Celebratory Meal

All Club members, their partners and families are invited to a celebratory meal on Sunday 11th May at the Montien Thai Restaurant, Sevenoaks. For more details please log in to the members area under the Social Events tab.

Open Water Swimming Starts Monday May 12

Open water swimming starts next Monday at Haysden Lake, Tonbridge from 6.30pm to Dusk. Free to members, £3 to non-club members - who must be current members of the BTF and produce their card when signing in. For a location map see here.

More Weekend Race Results

As most of you at the Tonbridge Triathlon will know Simon McLaughlin finished 2nd overall in the event whilst representing Team Wildside Tri RT, a fine achievement. Congratulations are also due to Club member Neil Harris who gained a third place in the Race New Forest Triathlon on 4th May racing for Team VO2. See here for details. Club member Andrew Jones finished 43rd out of 244 starters (13th out of 50 starters in his age group earning 84.2 Club Champ Points), well done too!

Tonbridge Triathlon - Some Great Results are here

Well done to all Club members who competed at the Tonbridge Triathlon, a great turnout - 33 members represented the Club (10% of total field and 28% of all Club members) on what turned out to be a beautiful day!
