CLUB RACES |
| The Club runs two sprint distance pool based triathlons each year. The 2009 April and September races were a great success and the next one is on 18th April 2010. The races use staggered start times from 06:30hrs onwards, the last competitor usually finishing at around 11:30hrs. The 400m swim takes place in the Leisure Centre Pool, the Cycle Route takes in 25Km of the surrounding undulating Kent Countryside, whilst the run is 8Km mainly around the beautiful Knole Park. |
The race has the generous support of the following local companies: The 7Oaks Tri 2010 Spring Sprint Race On Line Entry All individual entries have been sold. There are places for relay teams of 3. Charity Places are now available. See below for more details. Please read Cancellation and Transfer Policy below before entering The race is on Sunday 18th April 2010 and the link to the on line entry is here Any questions about the race please contact

. Cancellation and Transfer Policy As soon as we start organising our race we incur costs and financial commitments. However we are all triathletes and know that our circumstances can change - injuries can occur, work can get in the way or family commitments may need to change race plans. If this happens we would like to be as flexible as possible. Whilst we cannot refund your entry fee, if you are unable to participate in a race we will try to transfer your entry to the next one at no extra charge (although we won't then transfer it to the one after that if you can't make that one). As we get nearer to the race we are starting to make specific preparations for the race such as start lists, race number allocation, printing the personalised race numbers etc and therefore the free transfer option mentioned can only be open until 1st of the month preceeding the race (1 March). If the race has sold out we will keep a waiting list and if other athletes drop out or transfer their entry we will notify people on the waiting list to give them the chance to take up a space. This will only be open until halfway through the month preceeding the race (16 March), after which date we will notify those on the waiting list that the race is now fully closed. Finally – no race entry may be transferred to another person. We do not condone this for other races and do not want it for our race. It would be a terrible situation if an athlete had an accident and we were to have the wrong name and details for them to supply to the emergency services and the families of the athlete. If we discover someone racing under someone else’s number they will be disqualified, furthermore they and the athlete who had the entry originally would not be permitted to race at our events in the future. We hope that you consider this cancellation and transfer policy to be fair, and look forward to seeing you at our races this year or in the future. | Charity Places The Royal Society for the Blind
The Royal London Society for the Blind has been selected as the official charity for both Sevenoaks Triathlon events in 2010. Athletes who would like to take part in this event and raise money for them are invited to apply directly to the RLSB. The RLSB was selected by the Sevenoaks Triathlon organising committee, who were keen to maintain the event’s focus on supporting charities within the local community.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be working with the Sevenoaks Triathlon and are very grateful to them for providing us with charity places in the event as well as helping raise our profile among the athletes taking part,” Penny Wedesweiler, Community Fundraiser, said. “The Sevenoaks Triathlon is very well regarded and attracts many local athletes as well as others from further afield , so we’re incredibly excited to be part of an event that has garnered so much interest on a national level. The fact that the event sold out within four days is testament to how well it is regarded.”
The RLSB has charity places to give to those interested in raising funds and relay teams of three are also encouraged to apply. Athletes who would like to fundraise are encouraged to apply directly to the RLSB for a place and must commit to raising at least £250. Placeholders will be supported with a running vest, fundraising ideas and regular e-newsletters.

Race Feedback from September 2009 "I would like to say a big thank you to you and all the marshals who helped me today. It made my first ever tri an excellent experience. I was extremely impressed, the whole race is very well organised. I hope to be back next year - if you'll have me!"
"I would like to thank everyone at Sevenoaks Triathlon club for all the hard work put into yesterday's race, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and can’t wait for the next one. Many Thanks for a great day".
"Hi there really loved your race it was the best one I've done yet well organised lovely people very friendly and a nice location :) will definately be doing it again, when are April entry's open? Only one thing would say could make it better would be bike transition numbered slots and rows as it was really hard to find my bike after swim and my stuff when back from the ride :-( other than that a blinding race many thanks see you again in April if it's not booked up already :-) x"
"Thanks to Sevenoaks Tri club for a great race, superbly organized even down the weather! I finished on a high as I won a prize in the raffle!!"
"It's only really when you go to other triathlons that you get a proper sense of how well the 7Oaks tri is run. Great marshalls, course- marking, prizes, raffle, goody bag, scenery, time-keeping, transition zone and even a mass start for the quicker racers. And the professionalism of the race organisation certainly does not come at the expense of friendliness and fun. Great stuff - well done to all involved for another top day".
"Just to say another great race. Not sure if there are any better I doubt it? Great location, superb organisation, and a really friendly bunch of Marshalls. Looking forward to the next time. Many Thanks to you all".
"Can you please add me to your list for notification of the event next Spring? I completed my first tri event with you yesterday and greatly enjoyed it so want to be on the start line next time to beat my time…Many thanks for hosting such a fantastic event."
"Just a quick email to say many thanks to all at the club for organising a really good event yesterday. Despite the sore muscles I am keen to compete again next year so please good you email me when applications for the Spring event open".
"Enjoyed yesterday’s event very much. Thanks for the excellent organisation! Could you let me know when the registration for the April event opens?"
"Guys, the race today was absolutely fantastic! The race itself was one of the most fun I have ever done and the organisation was superb with lovely finishing touches. What's more the goody bag and the prizes for the draw (wish I had won one of those prizes!) were fab too. I don't know how you do it, but well done and keep up the good work" |
