Kent Fitness League Round 1 – Knole Park

Almost perfect weather together with “good to soft” conditions underfoot greeted over 400 runners for the first round of the  Kent Fitness League cross country on Sunday in Knole park on Sunday,

About 10 Tri-Club members helped our Athletic club friends achieve 3rd place (out of 18) behind strong teams from Dartford Harriers (determined to retain their title from last year) and Dartford Road Runners, with stand out performances from Cath Linney (5th woman / 148), Sally Mortleman (in shiny new pink spikes), (15/148) and Andy Linney (58/431 overall), full results here - http://kfl.canterburyharriers.org/xc_result.php?id=5859

Next race is at Swanley Park on 9 November.  All Tri Club members can run by joining 7Oaks AC at a special rate of £12 and paying £2 on the day - it’s a very friendly and relaxed event, a great introduction to cross country running and perfect winter speed work.

Hopefully we will see lots of Tri Club members at Swanley, and if some of the faster runners who were missing on Sunday return (including Sam Begg) we’ve got every chance of overhauling the two Dartford  teams.

Finally – if anyone has any questions or needs any advice, guidance or encouragement to take part just have a word anyone who raced on Sunday – we’ll be happy to help.
