Following last months vote, and with great pleasure, we would like to formally announce the following new committee members/positions:
Sally Mortleman (Swim Rep), Vanessa Gilmartin (Assistant Swim Rep), Stephen Searby (Vice-chairman), Matt Bee (Webmaster in training) and the new Chairman, Charlie Mortleman.
First up will be Fiona Sweny, physiotherapist at Manor Clinic who will be talking about triathlon related injuries and more importantly how to avoid them. As well as having experience in treating athletes across a number of sports she is a former UK IM finisher. Fiona's CV can be found at www.7oaksphysio.co.uk.
If you're a trained male cyclists between the ages of 18 – 50 doing approximately 6 plus hours of cycling per week, you may be able to take part in a study which will mean a free VO2 Max test!

7Oaks Tri Club are pleased to confirm that their Junior Aquathlon will be held for the fifth time on the afternoon of Sunday 5th July 2015 at Tonbridge School Sports Centre. The event is open to anyone born between 1st January 1999 and 31st December 2007 with athletes competing over varying distances as follows:
Hopefully no ice so going to meet at 8.15 PO and ride to Knockholt Village Hall for Sydenham Reliability Ride. 64KM or 100KM routes all for a £5 with hot drinks at Hunton
Mud, dykes and a freezing dip in the sea to wash off afterwards. It must be time for the annual pilgrimage to Birchington for the Kent Fitness League Cross Country at Minnis Bay. There were five deep drainage dykes on the course like this one:
Off road, 7.30 at PO, route - going West, duration - 3hrs. Can give short cuts for those who need to be back earlier. Martin Brown
On Wednesday 28th January Paul Butler will be holding a strength and conditioning workshop from 7.30pm to 9.00pm in the big hall at the Methodist Church, The Drive in Sevenoaks (normal location). This will include a number of exercises to strengthen arms, legs, back and core with a view to increasing overall strength and power and also to assist in improved posture and help prevent injury. The session will end with a stretching routine. Normal training kit and a drink recommended.
