Lake Swimming Update

We would like to update you on plans for Lake Swimming at Haysden for this year.

After the tragic events at Leybourne last year, and subsequent requests from the Council regarding our procedures, it became clear we could no longer continue to run swimming at Haysden as we had done for many years.

We have therefore looked at other options, and have decided the best way forward in that swimming at Haysden will continue on Monday nights, but will be managed by TriSwim, who are affiliated to NOWCA (National Open Water Coaching Association). TriSwim will ensure all safety aspects of swimming, including providing an electronic band which automatically checks swimmers into and out of the water

There is some extra cost to the club, but this will be fully subsidised.

Members wishing to use the lake, however, will need to purchase their annual NOWCA membership, which will be available to collect the first time they visit the lake for a session (cost £10) - this will also allow you to swim at other lakes managed by TriSwim / NOWCA (at the standard TriSwim / NOWCA rate).

Membership can be purchased directly here: http://www.nowca.org/products/131-8-seasonal-membership-plus-2-admin-and-processing-charge.aspx Members will need to choose ‘HAYSDEN LAKE’ as their ‘home lake’ choice.

7Oaks members will be entitled to unique discounts for coaching and wetsuits, so please sign up to our TriSwim's newsletter, and ‘like’ their Facebook page or Twitter feed (https://www.facebook.com/TriSwimKent/ or @TriSwimKent).

The committee (and membership as a whole I'm sure) would like to thank Paul Bonner-Williams for all his efforts in running swimming at Haysden over the last 10 plus years.
